Job Title: Area Sales Manager

Responsible to: Regional Sales Manager

 Location / Area: South Coast (DT, BH, SO, PO)

 Basic Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 - dependant on candidate calibre and experience. Some scope for exceptional candidates.

Principle Responsibilities:To maintain and develop relationships with both National and Independent Electrical Wholesalers to ensure profitable sales of the company’s range of domestic & commercial lighting products.

Achieve yearly sales and gross profit target.

Management of all debits, to be cleared within 90-day period of receipt, also to ensure of GNR have a minimum handling charge of 15% carriage applied.

All Area Sales Managers are required to achieve a minimum of an average of 4.5 sales calls per day and maintain an up to date diary planned of a minimum of two weeks in advance at any one time.

  • Achieve an excess stock target of 5% of your years GP target.

  • Maintain a project pipeline which has been agreed with your RD.

  • All ASM’s to ensure they have written and clear objectives set out for each call.

  • Maintain fully wired samples and ensure you are carrying products from the Top 30 products.  The products/packaging must be in good condition. 

  • Maintain customer records / V Cards.

  • Ensure company vehicle is clean inside and out and is maintained in accordance with the maintenance schedule. Daily/weekly/monthly checks should be completed to ensure the vehicle complies with the Road Traffic Act with a weekly vehicle check sent to MPH via the online portal.

  • All deadline requests that are agreed with the Sales Director or Regional Director are completed in a timely manner.

  • All ASM’s to focus on promotions to create maximum awareness and ROI.

  • All ASM’s to have a new business target which has been agreed with your RD

Ideal Candidate: Must have a positive outlook with a ‘can do’ attitude and an abundance of confidence. First class communication skills, highly self-motivated and the kind of person who wants to ‘smash’ targets rather than just hit them!

You will be an experienced sales professional from either a Manufacturing or Wholesaling background who is driven and ambitious with a real ability to sell. 

May accept exceptional candidates from outside of the electrical industry.
