Job Title: Area Sales Manager

Responsible to: Sales Director – Lighting

Location / Area: Scotland

Basic Salary: £35-45k dependant on candidate calibre and experience

Principle Responsibilities: Working on a specific geographical area as highlighted above the ASM will be responsible for the following key duties:

  • Territory sales role selling all of the lighting product offer into distributors on that area (Push/Pull role)

  • Sales out activity by way of pro-active support to local contractors aligned to our distributors (Joint sales calls/trade counter mornings/local ECA branch meetings/product training etc)

  • Successful candidates will be required to be focussed on being able to identify sales opportunities with both existing and new accounts and be able to strategically develop those opportunities within the set parameters of the company’s commercial trading philosophy

  • A dynamic approach and strong work ethic are a must as is the ability to carry out the more mundane – but equally important – aspects of the job (admin/calendar updates/adherence to company policies/expenses etc.)

  • A full and preferably clean driving licence is a must (any points need to be advised at initial interview stage) and computer literacy with the ability to use word/excel/outlook etc. also being a key requirement. Ideal Candidate: It is expected that all candidates must have the following personal attributes

  • An outstanding work ethic: The role demands high energy personnel who are willing to go the extra mile

  • Good communication skills: all candidates need to be fully literate with the ability to do so orally and in writing using computer-based software (Word/Excel/Outlook etc.)

  • Previous industry experience is seen as beneficial but not essential

  • The business requires all members of the sales team to have a very strong team ethic – our whole focus is based around the collective success of the entire business model

Company Background: A privately owned UK based business established in the late 80’s now boasting a turnover in excess of £75m. Lighting sales currently stand at circa £5-6m with an objective to grow this to £15m within the next three years.
