Location / Area: South Wales (CF, GL, HR, LD, NP and SA)

Basic Salary: £38-44k (Dependent on candidate experience)

Principle Responsibilities: Sales of loose switchgear, consumer units, TPN, Panel Boards, MCB’s and RCD’s and related devices.

The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing key accounts, maintaining a long-term relationship with accounts and maximising sales opportunities with them by implementing and sustaining an environment of mutually beneficial demand creation with the customers customer and M&E specification companies so that the brand is specified as the preferred supplier. They are responsible for the development and achievement of sales through the direct sales channel. You will act as the key interface between the customer and internal departments.

  • Total sales responsibility for the Low Voltage product in the designated geographical area as per annual set target. Develop a ‘pipeline’ of new business opportunities using the company Sales Process, and ensure that the business continues to capture new market share.

  • Together with the Country Manager, analyse business opportunities to ensure we make smart business decisions which support growing market share and profitability.

  • Direct business development to take place with Electrical Distributors (15%) and Panel Builders (5%) and create interdependence. Build and develop relationships and network at a senior level within our distributors, to understand opportunities which, exist in each area.

  • To create and maintain tri-party business relationships with Electrical Contractors (70%), M & E Consultants 10%), local authorities, end users to add value to our distribution and panel builder partners (20%).

Ideal Candidate: 

Essential

  • Proven track record in sales and delivering the plan consistently working within a team and as an individual.

  • Analytical, knowledge of the market, financially aware, with vision, creativity, attention to detail, tenacious, problem solver. The ability to manage risk with a trustworthy nature.

  • Strong negotiation skills, the ability to listen; inquisitive in nature, with project / account management and relationship building skills providing company credibility.

  • Ability to communicate and positively influence people at all levels: verbally, in writing and face to face with internal and external customers.

  • High level of IT skills required including use of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications

Desirable

  • An electrical background preferable, however this is not essential

  • Profit focused, ambitious and forward-thinking.

  • Friendly nature with drive and enthusiasm.

  • Self-reliant, flexible and resourceful.
