Job Title: Area Sales Manager

Responsible To: Regional Sales Manager

Location: Northern England – CA, LA, PR, BB, BD, HG, YO, HU, DL, TS, DH, SR, NE

Salary: £35-38k dependant on candidate calibre & experience. Scope available for exceptional candidates

Principle Responsibilities:

To promote the company’s products, face to face to existing and potential new customers. Targeted customer types will predominantly focus on the Electrical Wholesaler and Contractor marketplace. You will work with key decision makers within both customer types to ensure that sales of the company’s product range is maximised to its full potential.

Key Duties

  • To increase profitability and sales by making regular visits and calls to customers.

  • To ensure that customer visits are carried out in a structured and effective manner.

  • To liaise with colleagues where necessary to identify needs and opportunities within the customer base.

  • Ensure that a ‘follow up’ call is carried out following customer visits where necessary.

  • Notify immediately the appropriate office staff of any technical failures or product faults.

Ideal Candidate:

You will be an established manufacturer or wholesaler sales / specification executive with a strong knowledge of the wholesaling and contracting market. Lighting experience would be beneficial although is not essential. A key trait is the ability to build relationships to grow and develop your geographical patch.

A proven track record in sales is a must, as are excellent communication, planning and presentation skills.
