Company Description: UK based Manufacturer of an extensive range of quality Wiring Accessories, Lighting, Control Products and Commodity Items

Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Distributors

Responsible To: National Sales Manager

Location: North London

Salary: £35-45k dependant on candidate calibre and experience

Bonus Scheme: Earning potential of up to £13.5k

Principle Responsibilities:

Working on a specific geographical area as highlighted above the Distributor ASM will be responsible for the following key duties:

  • Territory sales role selling all of the product offer into distributors on that area (Push/Pull role)

  • Sales out activity by way of pro-active support to local contractors aligned to our distributors (Joint sales calls/trade counter mornings/local ECA branch meetings/product training etc.)

  • Successful candidates will be required to be focussed on being able to identify sales opportunities with both existing and new accounts and be able to strategically develop those opportunities within the set parameters of the company’s commercial trading philosophy

  • A dynamic approach and strong work ethic is a must as is the ability to carry out the more mundane – but equally important – aspects of the job (admin/calendar updates/adherence to company policies/expenses etc.)

  • The business prides itself on giving our sales team every tool required to carry out the job and in return we are looking for a team that is capable of using the right tools, at the right time and with the right customers in order to get the best possible result.

It is expected that all candidates must have the following personal attributes:

  • An outstanding work ethic: The role demands high energy personnel who are willing to go the extra mile

  • Good communication skills: all candidates need to be fully literate with the ability to do so orally and in writing using computer-based software (Word/Excel/Outlook etc.)

  • Previous industry experience is seen as beneficial but not essential

  • The business requires all members of the sales team to have a very strong team ethic – our whole focus is based around the collective success of the entire business model
