Stop for 30 seconds... This could really change the future of your business!

We know that finding new and experienced talent is one of the biggest challenges wholesalers face today, so why not grow your own? Apprenticeships offer a fantastic opportunity to develop both new and existing staff.

Here at Pinnacle Solutions, we have been delivering award-winning training exclusively to the Electrical Wholesaling and Manufacturing sectors since 2002.

As the only EDA affiliated training provider and partner of the EDA Apprenticeship Pluswe truly do offer something different. All of our coaches have worked in either wholesaling or manufacturing giving them a real understanding of the sector and market place. All of our Learning and Development has been designed specifically for the sector with the content and terminology used being totally relevant. This ensures everyone learning with us and attending our workshops can engage, acquire and then implement training more rapidly when back in their branch.

Our team believe the industry is as full as ever with great people who have great potential and that by working hand-in-hand we can help to unlock that potential and enable people to exceed in their roles and careers. Following this, we are proud to be able to now offer a totally bespoke 12-month Trade Supplier Apprenticeship that teaches and coaches your apprentices in all they need to know about wholesaling. We are currently rolling this particular apprenticeship offer out across the Midlands and North West, with delivery to the rest of the UK in 2020. As well as providing apprenticeship training, we are also able to work with you on the recruitment process of finding your apprentice(s).

Trade Supplier has been designed for both new starters and existing staff. The 12-month apprenticeship covers all aspects of the trade counter role from the basics of goods in and warehousing through to proactively selling on the counter and over the phone.

As well as offering a depth of training, Trade Supplier also puts apprentices through their paces at the end of the 12 months through a half-day, end-point assessment. This involves a knowledge test, real-life practical observation and a professional discussion. Apprentices have an opportunity to be awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction.

So, why choose to take on an apprentice?

It pays to take on an apprentice… Apprenticeships offer every business the opportunity to up skill not only their new employees but also their existing team. Apprenticeships offer a highly cost-effective way to develop team members in a professional and structured way.

Many employers who have an established apprenticeship programme have reported that productivity in their workplace had increased and the quality of their product or service had improved.

Other benefits that apprenticeships can contribute towards include:

  1. increasing staff satisfaction

  2. reducing staff turnover

  3. reducing recruitment costs

How is training funded?

Apprenticeship levy payers – Businesses with a £3 million pay bill

Non-levy - Businesses with a pay bill of less than £3 million

If you’re an employer with a pay bill over £3 million a year, you pay the apprenticeship levy from 6 April 2017.

An employer’s pay bill is made up of the total amount of the employees’ earnings that are subject to Class 1 National Insurance contributions, such as wages, bonuses, commissions and pension contributions.

You can only use funds in your account to pay for apprenticeship training and assessment for apprentices. You can’t use funds in your account to pay for other costs associated with your apprentices (such as wages, statutory licences to practise, travel and subsidiary costs, work placement programmes or the setting up of an apprenticeship programme).

Non-levy paying businesses share the cost of training and assessing apprentices with the government - this is called ‘co-investment’.

You will now pay only 5% towards the cost of apprenticeship training. The government will pay the rest (95%) up to the funding band maximum.
